VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Your time can change someone’s day and their future. At Meals on Wheels Greater Spokane County, volunteers are more than helping hands. They are friendly faces, meaningful connections, and a vital part of helping older adults remain independent, nourished, and connected to the community they call home. Whether you’re delivering meals, serving at a senior café, helping at events, or supporting behind the scenes, every volunteer role makes a direct local impact. When you volunteer with us, you become part of a community that believes aging should be met with dignity, compassion, and support.

MEAL DELIVERY

Help deliver nutritious meals and friendly check-ins to homebound seniors throughout Spokane County. Volunteers can choose a schedule that works best for them: daily, weekly, monthly, or as a substitute driver.

SENIOR CAFE

Help create a warm and welcoming dining experience for seniors at our Senior Cafés. Volunteers may serve as greeters, servers, or kitchen support, assisting with welcoming guests, checking in diners, serving meals, preparing to-go boxes, bussing tables, light cleaning, and supporting food safety standards. Volunteers work alongside Site Hosts and staff to build community, provide friendly service, and ensure every guest feels comfortable and valued.

EVENTS

Event Assistance volunteers help bring our mission to life at community events, fundraisers, and outreach activities throughout the year. Opportunities may include event setup and teardown, registration, greeting guests, raffle or auction support, decorating, and assisting staff during the event. Time commitments vary by event, making this a flexible option for individuals or groups who want to support local seniors while being part of meaningful and engaging community experiences.
