Becky and Earl have been delivering meals with us for almost a year! They first got involved after receiving an advertisement in the mail and thought volunteering would be something meaningful they could do together each week.

For them, one of the best parts of volunteering has been meeting clients and gradually getting to know them better with each delivery. That weekly connection has made their time on the road even more rewarding.
Outside of volunteering, Becky and Earl have done some traveling in the past, spending winters in Arizona. They now embrace Spokane winters again and also enjoy spending time with their two dogs. Both are retired from the Post Office, and Earl also proudly served 20 years in the Air Force before retirement.
We are so grateful for Becky and Earl’s dedication and the warmth they bring to our clients each week!

Robert first delivered meals back in high school as part of a humanities class- an experience that stayed with him for decades. When he retired from full-time work, he knew exactly where he wanted to spend his time: giving back through Meals on Wheels. He officially rejoined in 2023 and has been making a difference ever since.

For Robert, the best part of volunteering is the people. He loves getting to know clients from all walks of life, building friendships along the way. He also values working alongside other volunteers and appreciates the encouragement and positive outlook of his site manager, Larry.
Outside of Meals on Wheels, Robert keeps busy with plenty of hobbies and passions. He’s an avid organic gardener, a performance car enthusiast who enjoys long drives on windy roads in his V.W. Golf-r, and a dedicated dog dad to two energetic Springer spaniels who keep him active on hikes and walks. He also dabbles in guitar, stays active on the golf course (even if he calls himself a “hack”), and embraces his role as an all-around exercise junkie.
We are so grateful for Robert’s dedication, kindness, and energy. He makes a lasting impact on both our clients and our volunteer team!

Thanksgiving Meal Delivery Sign Up Coming Soon!
The holidays are right around the corner, and one of the most meaningful days of the year for Meals on Wheels is Thanksgiving morning. For many of our clients, this special meal is not only a chance to enjoy a traditional holiday plate, but also to feel remembered and cared for. We’ll be putting out a sign-up sheet in mid-October for volunteers who would like to help deliver Thanksgiving meals. If you’re available that morning, we would love for you to join us in spreading warmth, joy, and gratitude to seniors in our community.
Are You Using Our Mobile Meals App?
It’s a free app for your smart phone that you can use to navigate through your route - mark meals as delivered, call the office or your client, and even write notes to our client care team. Chat with us at the office to get going with the app today!
Heads up for the Holidays!
We’ll be closed Nov 10–11 (Veteran’s Day), Nov 27–28 (Thanksgiving), and Dec 25–26 (Christmas).
We know many of you may also be traveling or unavailable during this time. To help us plan routes and ensure all of our clients continue receiving meals, please let us know as early as possible if you’ll need time off around the holidays. Thank you for helping us stay ahead and keep everything running smoothly!
Is your Food Handler Card up to date?
If not, you can head over to our main office and take the test, or from any computer at your convenience. Your card needs to be updated every two years while you are serving with us.
